SUKKUR, July 4: A woman died in mysterious circumstances in her house in ADC Colony in the limits of civil line police station in Jacobabad on Wednesday.

Ms Bilqees, 30, wife of Zulfiqar Shah was seriously injured after suffering a bullet wound to her chest. Her relatives rushed her to the civil hospital where she was provided medical aid but she died.

The body was handed over to relatives after post mortem.

Syed Qasim Shah, father of the woman, told journalists that Ms Bilqees was cleaning the pistol when she accidentally pushed the trigger and the bullet hit her in the chest. She was seriously injured and later died, he said.

Police have registered a case of accidental death of woman.

JSQM: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz observed a token hunger strike and took out a procession in Jacobabad on Wednesday in protest against police’s failure to arrest people involved in attacking JSQM workers.

The procession led by Shaban Dayo, Manthar Sarki and Manan Mahar marched on different roads before reaching the press club where the participants observed a token hunger strike for two hours.

They told journalists that a worker of Sindh People’s Student Federation opened fire on JSQM workers and fled after firing in full view of police but they did not arrest him.

They demanded immediate arrest of the culprit.
